Introduction
A lasting connection to music begins with more than simply taking lessons — it develops when music becomes a meaningful and inspiring part of a student’s life. Students thrive when learning is engaging, encouraging, structured, and connected to their personal interests and goals. With the right guidance, music education helps develop discipline, confidence, creativity, focus, and lifelong skills that extend far beyond the instrument itself.
With extensive experience in music education, performance, production, and artist development, Peter Schroeder provides supportive, high-level instruction designed to help students progress while keeping the learning process enjoyable, motivating, and creatively rewarding. His background across multiple areas of the music industry allows him to guide students thoughtfully — whether they are pursuing music for personal enrichment, academic development, performance opportunities, or future professional pathways.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience level, learning style, and goals to create a clear and encouraging path for long-term musical growth and confidence.

Experience
Students of Peter Schroeder learn piano in a way that is engaging, relevant, and motivating.
With over 25 years of teaching and performance experience, Peter Schroeder helps students develop strong musical foundations while learning the styles they genuinely enjoy, including Pop, Jazz, Classical, Latin, Indie, Worship, Salsa, and contemporary music.
Since 2006, Peter has taught private and group music lessons throughout Vancouver’s North Shore using a contemporary, non-traditional approach that keeps students inspired, creative, and consistently progressing. Lessons are tailored to each student’s interests, goals, and learning style, encouraging not only technical growth, but also confidence, creativity, self-expression, and musical independence.
Students are also encouraged to explore playing solo, singing, songwriting, music production, and accompanying themselves on piano or guitar, where appropriate.
Peter’s professional performance background alongside respected Canadian and international artists brings real-world musical experience into every lesson while maintaining a supportive, structured, and age-appropriate learning environment.
If you are looking for a piano teacher who helps students enjoy music, stay motivated, and grow with confidence, Peter would be honoured to guide their musical journey.
